Years 7, 8 and 9
In Years 7, 8 and 9 students are given end of Year 11 Target Bands (1-3, 4-6 or 7-9) for each subject. Each year group has three formal assessments each year. After each assessment, teachers use Assessment Grids to make predictions for the end of Year 11. These predictions are Predicted Bands (1-3, 4-6 or 7-9). We use the terms Exceeeding, Meeting and Developing to compare the Predicted Bands with the Target Bands.
Year 10 and 11
In Years 10 and 11 students are given end of Year 11 Target Grades 9-1 or A*-G, depending on the subject. From September 2017 all subjects will use grades 9-1. Each year group has three formal assessments each year. The assessments are quality assured exam papers with mark schemes and grade boundaries. Teachers use the assessments to give end of Year 11 Predicted Grades (9-1 or A*-G). We use the terms Exceeding, Meeting and Developing to compare the Predicted Grades with the Target Grades.
Teachers give Attitude to Learning scores for each subject (3 = Excellent, 2 = Good, 1 = Coasting, 0 = Unacceptable).
Parents/carers will receive three Progress Reports each year. All Progress Reports contain the assessment data. One of the reports has written comments from staff.
