Boys Under 16 Leeds Football Champions!

file-2

Our Year 11 Boys Football team won the highly competitive Leeds Champions Trophy.

They qualified by winning the West Leeds League unbeaten and progressed through the Semi-Final beating Horsforth on penalties. The final was played at John Charles South Leeds Stadium, where the boys beat Roundhay in the Final 1-0. The winning goal was scored by Jack Backhouse, and there were some outstanding performances in the final especially at the back from Finlay Sanderson (man of the match), Callan Christieson-Clark, Spencer White, Will Grubb, and Finlay Beetham.

Valuable contributions were made in attack and defence by Callum Chahal and Harry Petticrew, whilst Connor Goodyear, Harvey Rudys, and Jack Twyford provided problems for the opposition defence. Haroon Boston currently playing at Sheffield United excelled up front and Captain Matthew Shift who has been outstanding all season put in another performance where he lead by example.
