Brilliant Club Trip

Pudsey Grangefield has recently signed up to be a part of the Scholars Programme, run by the Brilliant Club charity, which aims to widen access to the best universities in the country for state school pupils, especially those from more disadvantaged backgrounds or areas with low rates of progression into Higher Education.

As a result of this, we were delighted to take 12 pupils in year 9 to the launch trip for this programme at the University of Sheffield.  Students had the opportunity for a tour of the campus, as well as a Careers session on making applications to top universities as well as a study skills session.  In addition, they met the PhD tutor they will be working with over the next weeks on their assignment on the topic of Change in the context of education.  This will lead to a 2,000 word project which, if successfully completed, will mean students graduate the programme and will have the opportunity to visit another elite research-based university in the Spring term.

The students were outstanding on the day and were a credit to themselves and the school as a whole, and we look forward to their continued participation in the programme over the next few weeks

Pudsey Grangefield School Badge Transparent - Small

A Level results day: Thursday 15th August

We would like to congratulate all of our Year 13 students on their results. It has been a privilege to teach them over the past seven years and we wish them all the best for the future.

We do not normally single out individual students but we are going to make an exception this year as the following student encapsulates the values of the school and the quality of the education that our Sixth Form students receive. This student also demonstrates why we are the only school-based Sixth Form in the whole west area of Leeds that is rated as good by Ofsted.

Cameron Lee achieved A* grades in his A level maths, further maths and physics. In addition to this Cameron also achieved A grades in chemistry and Spanish. As a result Cameron has been accepted to study mathematics at Oxford University from September. Cameron has demonstrated our values of respect, resilience, integrity, compassion and ambition throughout his seven years at Pudsey Grangefield School and we are sure he has a bright future ahead of him.

The photo below shows Cameron on results day with Mr Williams (our Director of Studies for Year 13).
